Venom Update
Alright, just another quick update on the new acrylic piece I started. I thought I would take about a month but alas here we are a month in and still plugging along. I have been enjoying this piece and its limited palette. I've been putting in about 2 to 3 hours per week which isn't really all that much. I've noticed in this one though, that what you put on canvas is just as important as what you DON'T put on canvas. The negative space needs to read just as well as the positive. My original idea was to have Venom 'melt' away and drip towards the bottom of the piece. I'm liking how it's looking so I'm not sure if I wanna turn it into that or not. Anyway, here is a current shot from this morning after applying a few more layers in the white zones and on the tounge. I still have a lot of layering to do to get it to stand out more, so I feel like taking this one slow and giving each layer ample time to dry. I have a couple days off coming up here so I'm hoping to get this piece much further along in the next 48 hours...but of course, we'll see won't we?
