Moving on...
Okay, so I feel like I have put in the last couple of hours on this piece. As I stated in my last post, this isn't my favorite piece I have produced. I did enjoy the process however. I usually ty to take at least one thing away from the process regardless of how I feel about the final product. It's fun, and at least for me, gives purpose to the art. Here is the final piece that was finished last nightThis was a tough piece for me as I was not gifted with natural artistic talent. Any talent you see coming out of any of this was learned. I sat next to artists in school who could reproduce Rembrant with their eyes closed. So, having a goal helps too. Glad this piece is finished, and glad to be moving on to my next piece.
This next piece is going to be same subject matter, but wayyyyyyyy, simpler. For a while now I've wanted to produce a large Spidey painting. Our websliger in one of his dynamic poses, swinging his way along. I'm not sure how I want to finish it, either in grayscale, or to use more color. The idea was to take the sketch and try and re-produce it on canvas. To make the painting look like the blown up sketch, if that makes sense. Maybe a splash of blue and red in the background? I haven't decided, yet. I've had some fun sketching this next one out, here is a shot of the comp/idea.
I want his arm to break frame, and may end up using fishing line to re-create some 3D webbing within the piece, but again, I'm just spit balling here folks. I also decided to work this one on a smaller canvas. If I like how the finished product looks I'll probably go big, frame it, hang it, light it, and love it. So, there you have it, a quick update of the goings on. With that I am off to play 'Phase 10' with the wife from the comfort of our hammocks. Peace. :-)
